Insights from Caleb Campbell on Confidence, Competition, and the Weekend Ahead

May 13, 2026

Welcome to the third edition of Caleb’s Corner — your inside track to everything happening in the world of Caleb Campbell Racing. This weekend marks one of the biggest stops of the season as Caleb heads to Road America for the 2026 F4 U.S. Championship Weekend, running from May 14–17. The four-day event in Plymouth, Wisconsin, featuring its iconic layout, will bring together top drivers from across the series for a crucial weekend of racing. Here’s everything you need to know before Caleb hits the track.

Q: What was the primary factor that drew you to Kiwi Motor Sports for this year?

A: Kiwi Motorsport has a reputation for winning. From the beginning, it was clear that everyone on the team shared the same mindset and goals that I have as a driver. They are focused on professionalism and have a commitment to performance. They’ve built a very strong program, and I felt it was the right environment for me to continue developing and competing at a high level. The atmosphere within the team is extremely positive and motivated, which made the decision an easy one for me.

Q: How has the technical support or team culture at Kiwi influenced your driving style or confidence in these early rounds?

A: The technical support has been fantastic so far. The team communicates really well, and that gives me a lot of confidence every time I get in the car. We’ve been able to work closely on setup and feedback, which has helped me feel comfortable pushing the car early in each session. The culture is also very supportive and focused, so it creates an environment where everyone is working together to improve. That trust between the driver and crew has definitely helped me stay confident and consistent through the opening rounds.

Q: You’ve seen immediate success with the new team; what was the biggest adjustment you made during the off-season that allowed you to hit the ground running?

A: During the off-season, I really focused on preparation — both physically and mentally — and spent a lot of time reviewing data and understanding how I could become more consistent. I spend a lot of time in the gym and have built both my strength and endurance.

Q: In what ways has the support from Steele Auto Group allowed you to focus more on the technical and physical demands of F4 racing?

A: Having the support of Steele Auto Group has been incredibly valuable because it allows me to put more of my energy into the performance side of racing. F4 is extremely demanding both physically and mentally, and knowing I have strong partners behind me gives me the ability to stay focused on training, preparation, and working closely with the team on technical development. Their support helps create stability around the program, which is a huge advantage during a long and competitive season.

Q: Looking ahead, how do you and Steele Auto Group plan to leverage this partnership to make a positive impact?

A: I think the partnership is about much more than just branding on the car. The Steele Auto Group’s commitment to community, values, and ethics just feel so in line with how I try to represent myself. They are giving me a fantastic opportunity and I am determined to represent their brand with the utmost of professionalism. We have a shared interest in mental health and have already initiated a social media campaign collaboration. We have also begun plans for a fundraiser later in the year that I am really looking forward to participating in. They are giving me a fantastic opportunity and I am determined to represent their brand with the utmost of professionalism.

Q: Steele Auto Group is a major powerhouse in your father's home region of Atlantic Canada. How does it feel to carry that regional branding on your car when competing on the international stage?

A: It’s something I’m very proud of. Atlantic Canada has a strong sense of community and support, so being able to represent a company with such deep roots in the region means a lot to me and my family. When you’re racing internationally, you always want to carry a piece of home with you, and having Steele Auto Group on the car is a great reminder of where my support comes from. I’m proud to represent not only the company, but also the people and communities connected to it every time I’m on track.

Q: The NOLA circuit can be quite demanding; were there specific corners or sectors where you felt you had a distinct advantage over the rest of the field?

A: NOLA is definitely a technical circuit, and I felt strongest through some of the faster flowing sections where maintaining momentum is really important. Our car was very balanced throughout the weekend, which gave me confidence to attack the high-speed corners and be aggressive on corner entry. I also felt we were very strong in the braking zones, which helped create passing opportunities and build gaps during the races. A lot of the advantage came from consistency and being able to put together clean laps over an entire run.

Q: What do you think was the biggest reason for your dominance at the NOLA circuit?

A: I think the biggest factor was the combination of preparation and teamwork. Kiwi Motorsport gave me an extremely competitive car all weekend, and we worked really well together to fine-tune the setup for each session. Their level of professionalism and attention to detail was the difference maker. I came into the weekend feeling prepared and comfortable with the track, which allowed me to build confidence quickly and stay consistent under pressure. In a competitive field like F4, when everything comes together between the driver, engineers, and crew, it can make a huge difference.

Q: Between your three wins this weekend and your first-place finish at the 2025 Road America SpeedTour, which race stands out as your personal favourite?

A: That’s a tough choice because both weekends were very special for different reasons. Road America stands out because it was such a memorable breakthrough moment and an important confidence boost for me. At the same time, sweeping all three races at NOLA with a new team was incredibly rewarding because it showed how strong our program can be together. If I had to choose, I’d probably say the NOLA weekend stands out the most because of how complete the performance was across the entire event.

Q: Although it might be difficult to find flaws in your NOLA performance, are there specific aspects of your race you want to improve on at your next race in Wisconsin?

A: Even after a strong weekend, there are always areas to improve. In a series as competitive as F4, you can never afford to get comfortable. Going into Wisconsin, I want to keep refining my consistency and continue improving in qualifying because track position is so important. I’m also focused on adapting as quickly as possible to changing track conditions throughout the weekend. Small details can make a big difference, so the goal is to keep building and not lose momentum.

Q: With 3 wins already, what are your expectations for the remainder of your season?

A: The strong start definitely gives the team and I a lot of confidence, but the season is still long and the competition is very tough. My expectations are to continue being consistent, fighting for podiums, and putting ourselves in a position to compete for wins every weekend. At the same time, I want to keep developing as a driver and maximizing every opportunity we have. If we continue working the way we have been, I think we can have a very successful season.

Q: Now that you are in your second season of F4 racing, what was the biggest takeaway from your rookie season that is helping you this year?

A: The biggest lesson from my rookie season was understanding how important consistency and race management are over the course of a championship. Last year taught me a lot about tire management, handling pressure situations, and how critical preparation is before even arriving at the track. I also learned how to communicate more effectively with the team, which has helped me become more confident in giving technical feedback and making adjustments throughout a race weekend.

Q: Returning to the site of your first career win must be special. Does that history at Road America give you an added layer of confidence heading into the weekend?

A: Absolutely. Road America is a track that means a lot to me because earning my first career win there was such an important moment in my development. I also really like that one of the corners is named “Canada corner.” Having positive memories and previous success at a circuit definitely gives you extra confidence heading into the weekend. At the same time, every event is a new challenge, so I’m staying focused on preparation and making sure we execute at the highest level once we’re on track.
