Caleb Campbell is slated to compete in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series. The Canadian karting driver completed a Three-Day Formula Racing School at VIRginia International Raceway with the Skip Barber Racing School and raced in the 2023 season finale at Circuit of the Americas last season where he scored a pair of top ten finishes in the Championship class.
Campbell, from Ontario, Canada, will look to follow in the footsteps of reigning champion Sebastian Wheldon, who was his teammate when the pair competed in karting.
“The Skip Barber Race Series felt like the premier teaching ground in North America and when I did the Three-Day School, I appreciated all of the professionalism of the staff,” Campbell said. “I believe that this is a good place for me to gain skills and knowledge to move onto the next level of racing.”
One facet of racing that is attractive to Campbell is the level of control and influence that the driver has on the car and the results that can be extracted from executing a flawless performance.
“I love the thought of when you’re in the car and you’re driving and it’s just you. You’re in control of the car and you’re able to determine how fast you’re going to go. You’re in control of how you race and how you drive.
The 2024 Skip Barber Race Series begins on March 1 and will visit six iconic tracks across the United States for a total of 14 races. The champion will receive a $100,000 scholarship to advance to a USF-sanctioned series. Second place receives a full-season entry into the 2025 Skip Barber Race Series while third place receives a half season. In total, approximately $375,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series.
