This weekend, Caleb heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from June 11–14 for another key stop in the 2026 F4 U.S. Championship season. Coming off two podium finishes at Road America and entering as the points leader with 108 points, Caleb will look to keep building momentum at one of the most technical tracks on the calendar.
Q: You’re heading into Mid-Ohio as the current points leader with 108 points. What does that position mean to you at this stage of the season?
A: The championship lead is great, but it’s still way too early to be thinking about, there’s still a long way to go and a lot of points available. Mid-Ohio is a challenging track where anything can happen, so the focus is on executing a clean weekend, maximizing our result, and continuing to build on the momentum we’ve created. The goal is to keep scoring strong finishes and stay in contention every time we hit the track.
Q: After two podium finishes at Road America, how do you carry that momentum into Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course?
A: Every race weekend is a new challenge, and you can’t get too caught up on past results. Mid-Ohio has a very different layout and demands a different driving style, so we'll take the lessons we learned at Road America, continue refining the car, and focus on preparation. Momentum is important because it builds confidence throughout the team, but once we get on track, it's about staying disciplined, adapting to conditions, and putting together another complete weekend.
Q: Mid-Ohio is known for being a technical track. What areas of the circuit do you think will be most important to master?
A: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is definitely one of the more technical tracks we visit, and it really rewards precision. The Esses and the run through Thunder Valley are areas where being smooth and maintaining speed can make a big difference in lap time. The braking zones are also important because there are several corners where it's easy to overstep the limit and lose time on corner exit. Getting the balance right between aggression and patience will be crucial, especially since strong exits set up some of the best passing opportunities around the track. I feel that it’s a circuit where every corner seems to connect to the next, so it's less about one specific turn and more about finding a rhythm, minimizing mistakes, and executing consistently throughout the lap.
Q: As the points leader, do you approach the June 11–14 race weekend differently, or is the focus still the same?
A: The focus really stays the same and iit doesn't change the mindset going into the race weekend. The goal is still to maximize every session, qualify well, race smart, be consistent and come away with the strongest result possible.
Q: What did you learn from Road America that you can apply directly to Mid-Ohio?
A: Road America was a challenging weekend because of the changing weather conditions. I guess one of the biggest things I learned was to trust the team and trust the process. I have a great team behind me with a wealth of knowledge. Their experience can really help me learn and I have a lot to capitalize on.
Q: With multiple sessions across the weekend, how important will qualifying be in setting yourself up for success?
A: Qualifying will be extremely important. At a technical track like Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, track position can have a significant impact on the outcome of the weekend, so starting near the front gives you a much better opportunity to control your race, stay out of trouble, and maximize your points potential. I haven’t gotten a pole yet this year in qualifying and it’s one goal that I’d really like to achieve.
Q: What will be the key to staying consistent throughout the weekend and avoiding unnecessary risks?
A: The key is staying disciplined and focused on the bigger picture throughout the entire weekend. At a circuit like Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, it's easy to lose time or put yourself in a difficult position by pushing beyond the limit. The goal is to drive aggressively when the opportunity is there, but also be smart about risk versus reward.
Q: Do you feel any added pressure now that other drivers are chasing you in the standings?
A: No pressure. I’m just focused on driving clean, being consistent and finishing races at the front.
Q: What would make the Mid-Ohio weekend a successful one for you, beyond just the final results?
A: Beyond the final results, a successful weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course would be one where we maximize our potential in every session and execute at a high level as a team. That means making consistent progress from practice through qualifying and the races, communicating effectively, and getting the most out of the car whenever we're on track. There’s a couple areas of my driving that I want to continue to improve on and cleaning up those small mistakes would be a success for me.
